Conventional, Fifth-Wheel and Gooseneck Towing
V

Each 2027 Ford Super Duty carries three tow ratings: conventional, through the rear receiver, plus fifth-wheel and gooseneck, which mount in the bed. A 2.5-inch receiver is standard; the Ford F-350 DRW Crew Cab diesel with the 4.10 axle gets a 3-inch receiver. Tremor trucks are rated for 18,200 lbs conventional, properly equipped.

A diesel Ford F-250 Regular Cab 4x2 with Package 535 is rated at 23,000 lbs gooseneck when properly equipped, and a diesel F-350 SRW Regular Cab 4x4 at 27,600 lbs. A properly equipped F-350 DRW diesel reaches 35,000 lbs fifth-wheel as a Regular Cab or Crew Cab 4x2, and its 38,000-lb gooseneck rating belongs to the Regular Cab 4x2.

  • Standard 2.5-inch receiver; 3-inch on F-350 DRW Crew Cab diesel

2027 Ford Super Duty Payload and Cargo Capacity
V

Payload is what the truck carries in the cab and bed, including a trailer's tongue or king pin weight. Topping the 2027 Ford Super Duty payload chart at 7,900 lbs is a properly equipped dual-rear-wheel Ford F-350 XL Regular Cab 4x2 running the 7.3L gas V8 plus the Gas Heavy-Duty Payload Package. With the diesel, that DRW Regular Cab 4x2 tops out at 6,935 lbs, properly equipped.

Single-rear-wheel payload depends on cab and engine. For the Ford F-250, a properly equipped gas Regular Cab 4x2 is rated at 4,175 lbs, while the diesel peaks at 3,918 lbs in a 4x4 SuperCab fitted with the Trailer Tow Package. Gas vs. Diesel: Choosing a Super Duty Powertrain for Towing
V

Standard on every Ford F-250 and F-350, the 7.3L gas V8 produces 420 hp and 445 lb-ft; 87 octane is the recommended fuel. Properly equipped, it tows 19,500 lbs fifth-wheel or gooseneck on an F-250 Regular Cab 4x2 and 22,500 lbs gooseneck on an F-350 DRW Regular Cab 4x2, and that same DRW Regular Cab holds the 7,900-lb payload maximum.

Opting for the Power Stroke, a 6.7L High-Output turbo diesel V8, brings 500 horsepower and a 1,200 lb-ft torque peak at 1,600 rpm, plus B20 compatibility and its own diesel exhaust brake. Every F-250 and F-350 tow rating above 22,500 lbs requires it, and the diesel engine carries a 5-year, 100,000-mile Ford warranty.

  • 87-octane fuel recommended for the 7.3L gas V8
  • 1,200 lb-ft diesel torque peak at 1,600 rpm
  • Available PTO torque: 250 lb-ft gas, 300 lb-ft diesel
  • Tow/Haul mode on both 10-speed automatics
  • Diesel engine warranty from Ford: 5 years, 100,000 miles
