Stunning truck design comes standard with the 2018 Ford F-150, but for Collinsville truck lovers, buying the right rig is about more than just a pretty face - it's about power, performance, and capability too. The F-150 delivers that, and more, leaving even redesigned trucks like the 2019 Ram 1500 in the dust.

Engine Performance

Both the F-150 and Ram 1500 offer access to potent engines, but the Ford delivers more boost thanks to:

  • Ford's 3.5L Turbocharged V6 engine generates 375-hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, compared to the Ram's 3.6L V6 that manages only 305-hp and 269 lb-ft of peak torque.
  • The Ford Raptor V6 makes 450-hp and 510 lb-ft of torque, while the Ram 1500 5.7L V8 offers only 395-hp and 410 lb-ft of torque.

Towing Capacity

Powerful engines are great, but for drivers who want to get out of Fairview Heights and take their adventure - and their toys - down to the river, only the 2018 Ford F-150 towing features will do:

  • The Ford F-150 has a maximum towing capacity of 13,200 pounds - 450 pounds more than the Ram 1500.
  • The Ford offers drivers access to Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which allows drivers to guide the truck into place with the turn of a dial - making trailering effortless. The Ram doesn't offer a trailer assist feature.
