The 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 is a handsome truck, but is that what O'Fallon drivers want? The 2018 Ford F-150 offers similar towing capacity and price, yet has a long list of advantages that make it a better choice than the competition. Let's cut to the chase: the Sierra is an overpriced Silverado, a truck most of our Collinsville drivers already rank below the F-150. See some key differences, though, if you still aren't swayed.

Performance

The Ford F-150 delivers more of the power and performance capability truck owners are looking for than the GMC Sierra:

  • Ford offers a 3.5L turbocharged V6 powerplant capable of generating 450 hp and as much as 510 lb-ft of peak torque.
  • The Sierra's most powerful engine manages just 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.

Did we mention the F-150's best-in-class towing of 13,200 pounds?

Convenience Features

Ford drivers gain access to top-shelf convenience features when they choose an F-150, many not available on the Sierra:

  • Speed-sensitive wipers and adaptive cruise control help to keep drivers safer on the road and allow them to concentrate on more important things than adjusting the controls. The GMC doesn't offer either of these features.
  • The F-150 can be equipped with an exterior keypad entry system, allowing the driver access to the vehicle if they don't have their keys. GMC drivers don't have access to a keypad entry system.
